April 2018

Spring is in the air and summer is right around the corner. It's time to take out those BBQ grills and invite your friends over for a cookout and a round of cold ones. We have plenty of seasonal craft brews to keep you busy while enjoying the heat and the fresh air.

Have you tried Bud Light's newest brew? Bud Light Orange is the perfect way to celebrate the warm weather. Using real orange peels, this beer joins its friend, Bud Light Lime (reformulated and made with real lime peels), for citrusy goodness. Bud Light Orange is available only for a limited time this summer, so be sure to pick up a case today.

Craft Beer Selection

We have a few craft brews that we think you will enjoy when the warm weather returns. Here are just a few of our favorites.

Geaghan Brothers Stein Song — Our take on a traditional German Light Lager. Designed around memories of our dear old Maine, our lightest offering will make you want to sing with nostalgic hints of bready Munich malts and a bouquet of floral notes from German Noble hops. Have a pint and toast one again to the careless days, rafters that ring and memories that never fade away.

Jack's Abby Blood Orange — Blood Orange Wheat debuted in our Beer Hall and it quickly became a fan favorite. This German-style radler is fruit forward, juicy and bloody refreshing. Lean back and enjoy!

Long Trail Vermont IPA — The perfect balance of tropical fruit and citrus flavors through a heavenly dry-hopping of Citra and Amarillo hops, which give distinct tangerine, mango, pineapple and grapefruit character. It's complemented by the grist, featuring a heavy hand of flaked oats and aromatic Munich malt to deliver a smooth mouthfeel and hazy appearance. This beer also features the introduction of a new yeast strain that provides the beer with more neutral notes and juicy esters that enhance the hops.

New Belgium Tartastic Strawberry Lemonade — A delightful combination of strawberry and lemon purees fill the senses with an enticing balance of sweet and sour fruit. Slightly puckering with a creamy finish.

Shacksbury Rosé — Crafted in partnership with Sunday In Brooklyn, Rosé features 100% local fresh pressed apples from Sunrise Orchards in Cornwall, Vermont. We let the cider age on local Marquette grape skins collected from local winemaker friends, to impart flavor, color and tannin. The result is a fun-loving but refined cider that is as delicious as it is beautiful.

Perfect for summer, SpikedSeltzer is naturally flavored and gluten-free. It is also low carb with just 5 grams of carbs and 6% ABV. SpikedSeltzer is made exclusively from purified water and natural ingredients. The fresh fruit flavors infused in SpikedSeltzer are derived from cold-pressed citrus essence from a variety of fruits. Fermentation of this citrus essence and sugar naturally produces 6% alcohol. The result is clean and clear without the sugary sweetness of wine or the heaviness of beer. We currently carry Cape Cod Cranberry, Valencia Orange, West Indies Lime, Indian River Grapefruit and Ventura Lemon.

Employees of the Month

As a sign of our appreciation, every month we honor one employee as the "Employee of the Month" based on their work and staff recommendations. For April, we are proud to announce TWO employees from the sales department: Rick O'Connor and Andrew Kessler. The nomination was based upon Rick and Andrew's team-oriented response to a minor traffic accident involving one of our delivery trucks. Rick and Andrew stayed with our driver, offering reassurance; and made some of his deliveries for him due to the delay. Their initiative and demonstration of what teamwork means was exceptional. Thank you, Rick and Andrew, for all of your hard work!

We are also proud to announce Ken Irving, a member of the delivery department, as Employee of the Month for March. Ken was nominated for his outstanding work ethic, versatility in job performance and for being a highly valuable team member. Chris also exemplified the highest standards an employee should possess and takes on whatever task is asked. Thank you, Ken, for all of your hard work!

Think ahead...if you drink, don't drive!
