June 2016

Greetings!

It is official. Summer is here! As you know, here in Maine we really take advantage of the summer months. Between the nice weather, summer concerts, BBQs and beach, there is no shortage of summer fun! With 4th of July weekend coming, let's hope for the great weather to continue so that everyone can get out grilling and enjoying the fireworks.

For the week leading up to the 4th, one cent of every sale of Budweiser's 'America' cans and bottles will be donated to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which provides educational support to spouses and children of America's fallen and wounded soldiers. So this holiday weekend, grab some buds and show your American pride.

All of our summer seasonals are still available and you can see our full product portfolio by going to our website at www.nat-dist.com and to the "Our Products" section of the site.

Folds of Honor

As you have likely seen, Budweiser released their "America" packaging this summer to honor all things American. To show their support to our troops this Fourth of July, Budweiser will be contributing 1¢ for every America 12 oz. can/bottle sold in the week leading up to July 4th to the Folds of Honor charity - up to $1 million total.

"As a beer brewed by Americans since 1876, Budweiser recognizes and celebrates those who have fought for the liberties and freedom of this great nation," said Ricardo Marques, vice president, Budweiser. "We're continually inspired by the work that our partners at Folds of Honor do every day in providing scholarships to the families of fallen heroes, and we're looking forward to toasting to those who deserve it most: America's service members and their families."

If you want to show your stars & stripes this 4th and support a noble cause, be sure to pick up some Budweiser this week. To find out more about Folds of Honor, visit their site at www.foldsofhonor.org.

Welcome 10 Barrel & Elysian to Maine!

Joe IPA, 10 Barrel Brewing Co.We are excited to introduce two new west coast beer brands to our portfolio. Hailing from Bend, Oregon, 10 Barrel Brewing has been crafting excellent beers since 2008. 10 Barrel's focus as described by its founders is to create unique, thought provoking and interesting beers — with an emphasis on having fun. Initially, we are carrying 10 Barrel's Joe IPA (formerly named SAM — after the hops Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic), which is a quintessential hop-heavy "west coast" IPA.

Elysian BrewingAlso from the west coast, three-time Large Brewpub of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival, Elysian Brewing Company operates four neighborhood restaurants and a production brewery in Seattle, Washington. Known both for classic styles and for flexibility and innovation, Elysian has brewed over 350 different recipes since opening in 1996. While Elysian's brewers use a variety of unusual ingredients, they are seasonally notorious for their pumpkin beers. Our first beer offering from Elysian is Space Dust IPA; a light to medium bodied IPA with Chinook hops to bitter and late and dry additions of Citra and Amarillo. At 8.2% abv, this IPA will have you feeling interstellar in no time.
