New Brews from the Green Mountain State

Over the past few years, Long Trail, Otter Creek, and Shed Brewery have all taken great strides to rebrand their packaging and innovate their beers to appeal to a more discerning craft market. The results so far have been met with an amazing response. Continuing that wave of invitation, all three breweries have a handful of new brews coming to market that will surely appeal to the most discriminating craft beer drinker.

Long Trail has been making one-off brews, dubbed the farmhouse series, at the brewery in Vermont for a while now. The demand for some of these one-off batches were so high that Long Trail decided it was time to package them for thirsty fans outside of Vermont. Available for the first time in a standalone package, Long Trail's Farmhouse American IPA is a bold, American IPA featuring Falconer's Flight hops — a blend of the Pacific Northwest's most unique hop varieties — and loaded with floral, citrus and grapefruit notes. As well, Long Trail is offering a 12-pack variety pack called Farmhouse Collection; a fresh collection of ales from their farmhouse-turned-pilot brewery. Along with the American IPA, the Farmhouse Collection will feature Rye ESB, Session IPA, and Stout. With four different brews in this variety pack, the Farmhouse Collection has a style for every beer drinker.

Otter Creek Brewing and head brewer Mike Gerhart have some really exciting collaborations up their sleeves (or in the bag...). They first caught a lot of beer fans' attention with Double Dose Double IPA; world class collaboration with Lawson's Finest Liquids. Gerhart is at it again. This time Gerhart has paired up with the reputable Massachusetts brewery Jack's Abbey to create Joint Custody. Inspired by the German brewing background of both brewmasters, Mike Gerhart and Jack Hendler, from Otter Creek and Jack's Abby, respectively, brought their teams together to brew Joint Custody, a nouveau Pilsner featuring Huell Melon and Mandarina Bavaria hops.

A guardian of the old  and new school, Joint Custody fuses a traditional Bohemian build with the juicy notes of Germany's newest hop breeds. The result is a nouveau Pilsner that is packed tight with the big hop flavors that you have come to expect from both parties. This beer will be available in very limited quantities, so be sure to get yours before supplies are cashed...

Shed Brewery is proud to announce the release of Profanity Ale, their first brand new, year-round offering since 2011. Brewed with an obscenely malty backbone, Profanity Ale is a hoppy brown ale with a kicked-up hop profile that is sure to have you screamin' the whole way down.

With distinct grassy and fruity hop notes from the use of Galaxy, Mosaic and Cascade hops, Profanity is nicely balanced by a rich, roasted malt profile. Like other robust Shed offerings, this hoppy ale clocks in at 6.8% alcohol by volume.

Profanity Ale will be the third offering in The Shed Brewery's year-round lineup, which includes Mountain Ale and Shed IPA.

Employee of the Month

As a sign of our appreciation, every month we honor one employee as the "Employee of the Month" based on their work and staff recommendations.

For the month of June, we are proud to announce Tyler Thibeault, garage supervisor, as employee of the month.  Tyler makes sure all of our sales reps vans and all of our delivery trucks are running well so that we can get our customers their product. Tyler has gone above and beyond, working tirelessly alone for the last couple months while we are short-staffed in the garage. He has also stayed late, made road calls, and kept a positive attitude while being overloaded with trucks needing repair.

We want to thank Tyler for keeping our fleet running every day! Cheers, Tyler!
