NEW! Blue Point Brewery

Blue Point Brewing Company logoWe are proud to introduce Blue Point Brewery to Maine. The Blue Point Brewing Company is Long Island's first currently-running microbrewery. Located in the 1970's Penguin Ice Factory on River Avenue in Patchogue, Blue Point was founded in 1998 by two long-time friends, Mark Burford and Pete Cotter. The brewery was inspired by their life-long dream and built from a rare assemblage of equipment collected from breweries around the country. Storage tanks, fermentation vessels, and other brewing equipment were also gathered from other breweries like Frederick, LaJolla, Red Hook, Pilgrim and others.

Since their humble beginnings, Blue Point has grown and received national recognition for their beers. Their flagship beer, Toasted Lager, has been awarded numerous accolades including a Gold medal at the World Beer Cup and numerous Silver medals at the Great American Beer Awards.

Starting off, we will be carrying their Toasted Lager, Summer Ale & Blueberry Ale. Toasted Lager is copper in color, made from six different malts, including English Pale, Crystal, Munich, Carapils, Wheat, and Belgian Caravienna. Toasted Lager's balanced flavor of malt and hops makes for easy drinking and the special lager yeast used produces an exceptional, long-lasting smooth finish.

The delicious golden taste of Summer Ale comes from a substantial portion of wheat malt added to a traditional barley malt mix, which gives this delicious brew a unique tartness not found in many beers today. No surprise - this light, thirst-quenching brew is best enjoyed on hot summer days.

Blue Point's Blueberry Ale offers an unusual twist on brewing that turns out to be a wonderful blend of fresh blueberries matched with a distinctive, thirst quenching ale. They carefully add 732 pounds of fresh, plump and juicy, handpicked, USA northern highbush blueberries to every batch. Even before your first sip of Blueberry Ale, a strong, refreshing sweet fruit aroma emanates from the bottle, kicking your taste buds into overdrive.

Cans are back!

Cans have generally been reserved for the big beer producers due to the cost of production, but now craft and specialty brands are offering more can options. Cans ensure a fresher beer and are more disposable and easier to transport. Many outdoor venues/beaches/clubs do not allow bottles for safety reasons, so cans are the only option. When it comes to cans, we have tons of choices for you. From hoppy crafts to refreshing shandys, we've got you covered this summer!

Summer Seasonal Selections

In the beer world, we like to get summer started early. Below are are a handful of summer selections that will wet your summer taste buds.

Hell or High Watermelon logoIf you are in the mood for a fruity beer, look no further than our hugely popular 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon; an American wheat beer brewed with real watermelon, for a flavor that's surprisingly crisp, dry and refreshing.

Fresh Slice IPA logoAnother fruit forward option is Otter Creek's Fresh Slice White IPA. Fresh Slice White IPA has a spicy, estery flavor profile of Belgian yeast that meshes with fruity American hops and crisp, fresh citrus ripeness of clementines.

Goose Island Summer Ale logoAnother refreshing choice is Goose Island Summer Ale; a light-bodied session ale with a fresh orange aroma is crisp, easy drinking and endlessly refreshing. Brewed with hops from Elk Mountain Farms, Goose Summer Ale will be a staple at backyard BBQs and outdoor adventures for the whole summer.

Uinta Sum'r logoIf you are looking a well-balanced session beer, Uinta's Sum'r will be right up your alley. This refreshing golden ale is highlighted by the use of unique Sorachi hops, an uncommon hop from Japan, and balanced with lighter malts.

Whatever your adventure is this summertime, we have a beer for every palate. Be sure to check the rest of our summer seasonal selections on our website.
